In this video we demonstrate how to perform TV and SVC manoeuvres and how to measure IRV & ERV / IC & EC, using Medikro Spirometry Software (MSS).

SVC, slow vital capacity manoeuvre:
1. Place the flow transducer in the patient's mouth. The patient should breathe in a relaxed/normal rate and frequency through the flow transducer.
2. Start the measurement by selecting the SVC button.
3. The patient expires slowly.
4. The patient inspires slowly and long.
5. The patient expires slowly and long.
6. The patient returns to normal relaxed breathing.
7. Finish the measurement by selecting the STOP button.
8. Remove the flow transducer from the patient's mouth.
Measuring IRV & ERV / IC & EC
Please note! To be able to measure IRV, ERV, IC and EC parameters, they need to be selected from the settings (see chapter Variables in the Manual).
1. Place the flow transducer in the patient's mouth. The patient should breathe in a relaxed/normal rate and frequency through the flow transducer.
2. Start the measurement by selecting theTVbutton. Monitor the traffic light colour on theSVCbutton. SelectSVCbutton when the colour is green.
3. The patient expires slowly.
4. The patient inspires slowly and long.
5. The patient returns to normal relaxed breathing.
6. Finish the measurement by selecting theSTOPbutton.
7. Remove the flow transducer from the patient's mouth.
